Neutrogena, a company that makes every kind of skin and hair care product imaginable, has added an acne treatment to its offerings called Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub. Despite the long and impossible to remember name this is a very promising acne fighting product.

This product promises to fight acne, while also soothing the user and reducing the stress caused by outbreaks, which can be quite a real thing. This product has evolved from the original bar of acne fighting soap that Neutrogena originally offered that had mild ingredients that did a decent job fighting minor acne breakouts without a lot of side effects like dry skin and irritation. It inherits the same mild ingredients, which are easier on delicate face skin than some competitor’s products. It has advanced beyond the old bar, however, with a convenient new packaging and the addition of some creative additives that make the experience of using the product much more pleasant.

Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub

This new scrub comes in a convenient four ounce squeeze bottle that is available over the counter. The actual product is a creamy consistency with tiny granules that act as a scrubbing agent. They give a satisfyingly gritty feel to the scrub as you use it that leaves your face feeling clean. They also help to exfoliate dead skin from the face, keeping the face healthy and clean feeling when you are done.

The active ingredient for acne fighting is the standard salicylic acid, found in most of the better over the counter acne fighters. Like other acne products that contain salicylic acid, it can be a bit harsh and leave a bit of a residue on your face. To help with the harshness and to add the stress control aspect to the product, it contains cucumber extract and green tea extract as well. These lend a pleasant fragrance to the product and are also known to be very soothing physically and mentally. As an added bonus, they are supposed to tighten pores as well, which should help to prevent grease from entering and causing future outbreaks.

Neutrogena’s acne scrub is not necessarily a replacement for a good face soap.
